Ok just ran subst c: m:\

to setup a virtual drive of our root drive m:\

Worked ok but for some reason all of the network drives dropped off.

So ran subst /d c: to delete it. No joy. No network drives work.

Reboot the server. Nothing. Can't map any drives. It says that there is no network.

If i try to run a netbios query through Start > Run

i.e. \\servername\share it says that there is no action associated with this command....

oh my god....what has it done....can anyone advise?

eek! I'd boot from the Windows 2000 Server CD and use the repair function to repair the server and see if that helps.

Have you had a look at the event viewer to see if anything is being flagged up about the network card?

thanks. it had completely fooked it. have rebuilt it from scratch now
