connection speed tests very different
Hi
downloading a file (hd trailer from divx.com/hd) my speed is 240KB/s. Doing a test on us.mcafee.com/root/speedometer i get 45KBps (or 362Kbps) . Why the vast difference between the Kilobytes (KB) results? What should i get on a 2MB connection? I believe i should get 256?
thanks
Michael

Tests will always vary, depending on other factors - site status, server quality, internet traffic etc.
As a general idea you should get in around 240kbps. 256 is in fact the maximum possible speed for 2mb connection, but you will never get it due to other factors - distance from exchange, line quality etc.
Here is a good place to test your speed and get more info.
