missing pixel dilemma...
#2
The dead pixel itself will be a small area on screen that does not work, and will be permantly either black or white.
If your screen is say 800*600 resolution, then that means it has 480,000 pixels (like little square dots). One of these is defective!
Usually means nothing to worry about, unless it is a cluster in the middle of the screen.
It is a well known fact that these screens suffer from dead pixels.
In fact, most manufacturers have a set percentage of acceptable dead pixels, meaning that if you buy one and it falls within their percentage, TS
Just check that it is in fact only 1 missing and also where on the screen it is, as if it is in the center, it may annoy you.

the 15" dvd lcd tv apparently has a missing one in the corner of the screen about 2cm from the edge. will this affect the pic and does one missing thingy mean more will apear?
the make is NAIKO and everything i have read about the tv seems good...just not sure if its worth the risk

lightning101 swears you can poke dead pixels back into life...never seen it done personally
one dead pixel is nothing to worry about. they're not contagious so it in no way infers more will appear through time.
Class 2 TFT's (which this will be; Class 1 are military/hospital grade etc) are typically sold with a 2-3 dead pixel tolerance out of the box.
