I've had millions of viruses since having the internet over the past few years, only letting people know, espec the ones without virus protection, I know what its like to lose loads of stuff off a computer coz of some saddo sending viruses, the last one I had made me lose all the pics of my daughter and a load of work I had been doing.
No it didnt get round my virus protection, it warned me first.

Posting warnings about viruses you get (unless it is something really new or dangerous) are about as useful as telling people to breath.

Symantec
The Help file that comes with your AV software
You finished having a go now? Some people might have actually been pleased to see that they had a warning about a virus going round, 2 years old or not!

Just ignore him - he's happy in his sanctimonious little world. If you want a bit of sport mind he's possibly one of the easiest people on SN to wind up.

Julz1983, there are a couple of bits of software you should have installed.
1. Anti-virus - AVG is a good freebie: http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1
2. Firewall - ZoneAlarm - another freebie: http://www.zonelabs.com/store/conten...eeDownload.jsp
3. Anti SpyWare - AdAware Personal - another freebie: http://www.lavasoft.com/
4. Mail Interceptor - Mailwasher - another freebie: http://www.mailwasher.net/
Frequently go to:
www.windowsupdate.com and get all the security patches.
