Converting music files
Downloded a few music files and they come down in .WMA format. Other than changing the end of the file to .mp3 is there any software [pref free] to convert .wma to .mp3 ??????????

To give you some idea. I use a nice piece of software called "Ashampoo MP3 Audio Centre' You should be able to get a 30 day trial from here: www.ashampoo.com
Very easy to use with wizards etc..

Changing the extension from .wav to .mp3 won't change the file itself, so that won't be of much use. An application will try and open what it thinks is an mp3, which it won't be and will give an error, or, at worst, crash the machine.
As others have said, plenty of software out there to convert from .wav to .mp3
