Default Monitor upgrade time.

Its time to upgrade my monitor. Its ok for general use but has nowhere near the colour perseption I need for picture editing.

Whats out there thats good, I'd love an Apple cinema display but can't justify that sort of price.

The critera it must meet are listed below.

LCD 17" (haven't got the space for a 19" or CRT)
Outstanding colour resoloution
£300 or less

What do you recommend?

I'd go for the 19" though..... I find it hard to believe you don't have enough space for a 17" tft but not a 19". Is your office only 17" wide?

I second the Iiyama recommendation however if you can find one, the E481 was considered to be a better model (but discontinued). Don't ask me why, a friend has 7 of them and insisted that he'd read reviews saying the 431 qas not as good and therefore must have another 481...

Rich B. I have shelving units around the monitor on the desk. The resuting space where the monitor fits might take a 19" at push if the stand isn't big.

ooo, just found a store doing LaCie 19" pro monitors for £319!!! Also going to have a look at the sony Xblack monitors next week, if its the same technology behind their Vaio laptop screens they could be quite promising
