Default Tech Support websites.

I've used a couple of places other than here when the going really gets tough.

The 2 that spring to mind are:

Tech Republic - http://techrepublic.com.com/5221-6251-0.html
Experts Exchange - http://www.experts-exchange.com/

The thing that really gets me about "experts" exchange is that they basically expect you to pay for membership, and the "expert" that answers your question can be any body!!

Seems like the people who run the website are getting a lot of cash for not doing a lot of work

Anyone know of any better sites?

Depends on what kind of support you're looking for. Mac or PC? General help or more specific things, for example, setting up Active Directory.

I can only really suggest mac based sites, as I'm an Apple geek

Apples?? May as well be talking about Oranges

PC based support, moderate to specific. Stuff like setting up websites, enabling/disabling directory views. Also things like partition management, multi booting etc etc.

Basically its the problems that I run into from time to time. There is some stuff that I am reasonably clued up about, and other stuff that I do not even know the first things about

Have you tried google.com

Seriously, typing in your problem and out of the 8 billion searched pages they always come up trumps

Google is great when you have a specific error number. Sometimes, depending on the problem it send you all around the houses
