TBH the shuttles are pretty straightforward to build. Just make sure you put the shim on the cpu , and the heatsink is on perfectly flat , and not raised at any points ...

Built one last night (ST20G5) - 4 hours start to finish - absolutely fine.

By my timing, you should have put the hardware together already

not all the parts are here yet --- waiting on the memory and graphics

bios saviour is in
cpu is in (no shims) part of the ice cooling just use the thermal paste

the ice cooling refit is a pain - long screwdriver needed

does'nt help if you have to do it twice coz you forgot to put the fan back !

4hrs - should have it cracked in 2 (in total) - 20 mins for the bios and cpu !

Built my Sn85 (?) in no time at all - the easiest build I've ever done.

Had to update BIOS for correct cooling but that was a while ago now.

Yep - it is quick to do - dvd and floppy mounted - hd prep'd

just need to put the memory in and the video and connect it all up

the bios saviour looks like it could be a godsend as the first I have got to do is update the bios to see the dual core cpu !

The only thing I found with the sn25P I had was that the 2 drives in the upper portion of the case can get very hot. You also want to replace the SATA cables with better ones, like Akasa, as the ones shuttle supply are know to be iffy. you'll also want tghe latest BIOs to support you X2 chip.

Did you check the if the 7800GT will fit the SN25P? It's a very long card!
The straight 7800 is about 8-10mm shorter if the GT won't squeeze in, and still better than the X850 etc.

all done - nice and easy - even swapped out the cables

heats not too bad --- but

the noise is bad

anybody want to buy a ready built shuttle

and suggestions to get the noise down - cannot configure speedfan prop

cpu runs at 35 and then the fans cut in at 100%

if you can wait until the weekend I can send you the config file I used. Otherwise have a look on sfftech.com forum as the files are kicking around there somewhere.

j1xny - I have had a look on there and found the only one that matched the cpu heat to what the bios was telling me was loaded by village idiot - and then it still powers the fan when the temp has a blue arrow next to it !
