I was able to click reply before and at the botom of the screen, it said it could not be modified, but now i can't even select reply. Usually when you right click, reply is highlighted....it isn't now.

Well back to the top with this, as it's doing the same again.
Reinstalled the whole lot and was fine again, till a couple days ago and now i can't reply to emails again.
I had a trojan horse startpage 18.bd or whatever it is, but going through mcafee it looks like i've got rid of it, but i'm still having the problem with Outlook.
Any idea's peeps??

How could you have a trojan infection if your McAfee was up to date?
What's all this right-clicking stuff? Why not open the email, click reply & then tell us what it does?

..erm..if youre not sure if you got rid of a trojan then tbh I would be installing spybot S&D along with something else, perhaps microsoft antispyware beta and/or ad-aware. Update them and run some checks to see whether your system really is clean.

I never had Mcafee installed before i had the problem.
Spybot always has been installed, as well as AVG and Adware.
The right click stuff, is another way of replying. I can't click reply or reply to all, etc, as they aren't highlighted, as available.

its ur POP3 and smtp address missing :-)
drb5
I dont think its locked so to speak....
I personally think you have not specified your outgoing SMTP address for your mail provider within outlook.
IF this is not specified then OUTLOOK has no idea where to send the mail hence why it remains in your OUTBOX.
I cant remember exactly where to specify this in Outlook 2003 but you have to edit ur current mail profile to reflect the POP3 and SMTP addys in there.
you can get this info (POP3 and SMTP address)from your mail provider/host i.e. google mail, yahoo mail site
Im sure that is the prob. Hope that helps

p.s. i think this thread confirms my suspicion on ur problem:
