Xbox 360 - im confused about the cables
The current Xbox has the advanced Scart cable where I can run my optical audio cable into it and benefit from Dolby Digital sound.
The Xbox 360 has this:

Neither of these appears to have the option of Optical or CoAxial Audio? I dont have component connections on my amp just Optical and CoAxial. So am i fugged?

The only way to get full 5.1 surround sound will be to use an optical connection. All leads except the one that comes with the core 360 package have an optical out connection located on the end of the lead that connects to the 360. You will need to use an optical lead you have yourself to connect to your surround sound system.

I was in Game today, finding out when my 360 will be here (they apparently sent me some information about it 
) - they didn't know what AV cable came with it, so I'm gonna pre-order it from Play anyway. If the worst comes to the worst, I'll send it back 
I've ordered the Full £280 system, not the Core one. Anybody care to comment before "purchase overtakes brain activity"?

i've pre-ordered it now with the Advanced Scart Cable. I think that this will have the Optical connection that i need. If not I'll return it. Handy to have an RGB wired scart too

As stated, the one supplied in the box with the £280 package DOES HAVE a connection for optical out. All you will need is a tos link fibre optic link cable to go from the xbox av cable to your dolby receiver. The scart cable kit is not required in european versions of the 360. The bundled cable comes complete with component (which includes Red/White/Yellow phono) for non hi def, and a phono to scart converter, just like the original xbox version included. The only benefit from buying the scart av cable, would be to allow auto switching of the tv input channel when power is either turned on or off on the 360, although please note, the scart cable may not include the optical output as discussed.
May be worth checking this, especially if you would be requiring both.
