computer time when on a domain

Question computer time when on a domain

so I know your dc's all have the same time ( one is set to micorsoft time web site) but I just noticed today all the pc's are at different times ( few minutes in it

i have xp pc's and 2k3 dc's

I thought the pc's should get their time from the server or am I getting mixed up

run the net time command in the login script - that should sort you out

Is it set on the clients?

As kieran said set it in a logon script or use a GPO (as Notorious said).

I use gpo's allot and have never seen anything about time - do you mean set it as a logon script in gp

we all thought that time was set automatically .. cheers guys

net time isnt the way.. there is a registry key to be set on the PDC emulator (as this is the machine that provides the time)

Then you should be able to do w32tm /resync /rediscover to test..

but all clients that are a member of the domain should then look to set their time.. check for w32tm events in the eventlog.

Cheers David, can't belive we have sat on our domain for 5 years and never noticed the time differnce on pc's
