Saving pics

I don't know why but the last couple of days when i dowload pics and try to save them i can only save them as bmp, i can't change them to jpeg for some reason - any ideas?
win xp pro

Try this first,

Go to Tools | Internet Options | Delete Files

And look at the below if the above doesn't work,
