IPOD Help
I currently have a 40gb Ipod all sorted with my laptop
My daughter has just bought a 2nd hand Mini Ipod which has some tracks on that she doesn't want
I have ALL the houses music on my laptop
Question
1. Can I just delete the Mini Ipod and start a fresh?
2. Can I connect her Mini Ipod to my Itunes so she can pick which tracks she wants on her one?
As you can tell bit of a numptie on these things
Phil

The Apple iPod Updater should reformat the iPod.
I maybe wrong, but iTunes may force the same music library on both iPods. You could use EphPod (free) to manage it.

If you connect the mini to your laptop it should make the ipods library the same as the laptop - ie overwrite whats on it already.
If the mini doesn't have enough space you can set it to only copy over certain tracks - it's in the help system. Not a problem I've had yet as my 30gb ipod still has about 23gb spare...
Agree with ozzy - use the latest updater as the "new" mini may not be up to date - like no podcast support.

SOrry m8 - been away
As these have said, the new Ipod updater should do the trick, otherwise, to format it, just plug it in to the PC, and right-click on "format". BY all accounts, it should take about 2 minutes, although don't quote me, as I use Mac
The ITunes library is the be-all-and-end-all. Every Ipod (unless selected not to), will overwrite it's contents to co-incide with the Itunes library. You can tell it not to do this by.....
You'll see there's an Ipod icon in the bottom left-hand corner. click on this
Hope this helps a bit (and don't take the p1ss out of my music selection!!!)

I have to sort out 2 mini i pods, one for the girlfriend and one for the nephew lol.
Even though I had I Tunes already installed, to get the new ipod to work I had to re install everything from the cd supplied with it, it then formatted the ipod and worked ok.
This did not overwrite the itunes library.
Personally I hate the damn things lol, the ipod 'help' desk screwed up my home pc, by getting me to download service pack 2 - which completely fubared my pc (dont ask why, it just did).

SD555 - Thank god I'm not the only one with Abba Gold on my iPod!
Incidentally - just looking at the pic, do you have all your albums set as playlists? and why do you have all the Disney tracks twice?
I have to admit that iTunes has made me bit **** when it comes to adding info & artwork...

The Disney tracks are also "instrumentals" for sing-alongs in the car. My daughter that is, not me!!!
Yeh, all my albums are playlists - just made it easier for my brain. I've also then got playlists for just "singles" rather than albums......
