Default Budget Laptop Opinions?

Shortly going to need to buy a laptop, as we won't have any space to have a desktop machine set up. Have homed in on this Toshiba Satellite Pro L10.

Spec is Intel® Celeron® M Processor 370 with 1.5GHz, 400MHz FSB, 1MB Cache/ XP Pro/ 256MB/ 40GB/ 15TFT/ DVD-CDRW/ 802.11bg.

Ebuyer are selling it for £433 + VAT, which seems good value.

For reference my current desktop is an ageing 550MHz PIII and it can do everything I need it to do (albeit a bit slowly).

Any opinions? Cheers!

Good point! Mainly web surfing and storing/manipulating photos from our digital cameras. Also some digital audio stuff, but nothing that my old PIII couldn't handle.

Seems a very similar spec to the Toshiba. Slightly wider screen, but slower processor, and only XP Home. Will have a look around the Dell website!

I just got one yesterday as a replacement for a laptop someone left in an unlocked room lol. It seems fine to me, will be able to edit photos no probs.

Cheers
Mark

p.s mine has 512mb ram, not sure if this was an upgrade at factory or by one of my colleagues.
