Managing e-mails
This may be a blindingly stupid question but please bear with me......
I use Outlook Express and use e-mails for business use selling some products. So I get a mix of business, personal and rubbish come through into the Inbox. However the actual management of messages seems extremely limited. I can move to a folder, mark as "read" etc but that's about it. If I reply to a sales enquiry there is no way of linking the sent message to the enquiry for example (aside from opening a new folder). So the question - "is there any specific e-mail management software available or am I just not using Outlook properly? dl

Looks like your not using outlook express properly.
You should be able to create folders to manage ur email, then just "move" emails into the new folder as required.
this may help :

Thanks F-T,
I'll certainly run through that link although I do use the folder system. But say I get 100 enquiries about Product X. All I can do is to put the enquiries and my response into that folder. So very soon I have 200 messages. Then a further e-mail ordering Product X arrives and there no easy means of linking the order to the original enquiry in the folder aside from a time consuming search. If Outlook or suitable software picked up on the fact that I had already received a message from the same e-mail address or name and alerted me that would save so much time. Or if I could mark the message in some way such as the using the word "Ordered" this would make it much easier if I wanted to do a chase-up message to people who hadn't ordered. dl

You should give Thunderbird a try - you can either create further folders, or label (colour sender/title/date) the e-mails as personal, work related, etc. Your inbox does look like a rainbow that way, but at least it's effective.
