can you not just adjust the settings in the "users" section of the control panel like in the the versions of windows?

TweakUI is the easy way, the harder way is to go registry hacking

only have 1 user then it will log that user in automatically...otherwise it's the registry.

As I said in my original post - get a copy of TweakUI - it's free and from MS. It has a Logon section where you can choose which account to auto-logon

It's part of PowerToys: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/d...powertoys.mspx

Yep TweakUI and the Powertoys are a must have addon for XP, as they were for any other Win OS.

Set it to automatically login with your userid and pass as normal in TweakUI, then it shouldnt popup.

The Normal way to do this is remove any accounts you have setup and just use the admin account. This way you log straight in.

Also make sure you have "fast users switching turned off"
