Default Vinyl to PC

Looking to transfer some old vinyl and cassettes onto my PC then burn to CD, any software recommendations?

There's a few good uns - Sound Forge, Cool Edit Pro Steinberg's Clean!

Don't really use my PC for audio - I use Mac (in other words, I do it properly!! )

For what you want Sound Forge is probably the best, as you can use CD architect to insert the CD track numbers

Well its illegal to copy any originals, so why not just download them off the net at 320kbs, just search by track name, it will end up quicker, easier and is no less legal than what you are proposing to do. Unless you are the recording artist of course

I doubt the vinyl I want to copy is available on the net and the cassettes are mix tapes, so they won't be there either!

But thanks for the legal advice, you'll be telling me to stick to the speed limit next!

Likewise - as a recording artist, I would LOVE to see where UK copyright law states you can copy a song

i have used sound forge before, copied all my old street sounds electro collection onto the pc then burned them all to cd.all 22 albums!.was very handy as you cant buy them on cd.
