- In Outlook, on the File menu, click Import and Export. The Import and Export Wizard opens.
- From the list, click Import Internet Mail and Addresses, and then click Next.
- From the list, click Outlook Express 4.x, 5.x, 6.x.
- Ensure that the Import Mail and Import Address book check boxes are selected.
- Click Next.
- Select the option for the action that you want Outlook to take for duplicate items.
- Click Finish. The Import Summary dialog box provides details on how many messages and addresses were successfully imported.

I've trie dthat and it does not come up like you said!
it gives you a huge list which includes outlook express 6 so i chose that
then it comes up Import mail from a OE6 identity or you can choose import mail from a OE6 store directory if you choose a store directory you have to look for it your self under C: , program files and then Outlook Express but when selected it does not open or import anything!

Try saving your express data as myemails.dat fom the file menu then, put it on your desktop for ease.
Then go into outlook and open directly. It does work, we've all done it.

Aren't they .dbx files under each users profile?
For example mine are located in: c:\Documents and Settings\Nick\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{D8AFF125-.....}\Microsoft\Outlook Express\
I think I ust copied those to the correct path and it worked. Long time ago mind.

Do a search for files ending with .PST (mine is called outlook.pst)
Then in OE Tools, Options, Mail Setup, Data Files then ADD the PST file.
Off the top of my head so don't sue me if it's boll0x

Do a search on Inbox.dbx - I suppose there should now be 2 - old and new.
This shows you the folder your mails are stored in.
I suppose if you copy the contents of the entire folder from one install to another you'll restore your mails.
Note:this will delete anything currently held in your new inbox, deleted items, sent items..etc
