Default Any router / firewall specialists out there?

Guys, I'm stuck

I'm using a new Netgear 834GT router / modem / firewall at home, and need to configure it to allow the IP Camera to talk through.

It's on port 80, and as far as I can gather I've opened the ports correctly- the configurey thingy told me to open 5000, 5001, 5002, 5003.

However, if I type in the current ip address at home from work (something like http://192.152.57.81:80) all I get is the bloody router configuration screen.

I can't seem to get through to the camera.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi

Well if you have opened 5000, 5001, 5002, 5003 then surely those are the ports for the service !

Another couple of points -

Be v. careful allowing the web admin to be available via the internet.

Perhaps edit your post to remove the IP address too !

Just a suggestion But let us know how you get on.

<guess>
you'll probably need to port forward to the machine the camera is connected to.

tbh its all a bit beyond my level of technical ability..... although I'm sure loads of people will have had fun trying to get to the ip address in the first post, which I made up- although thanks for the heads up rich.

am going to try again tomorrow when jack has less of a hold might work better tomorrow, forgot I pulled the plug on the router as the boy was pi ssing me off, no wonder I couldn't log in all day

Will also pull the plug on the remote admin once I've got it working, but if I leave it open for now someone who knows how to sort it could do it for me

Thanks again guys

normally if you have to enable certain ports on the router these are the ports you would go through to access the camera. Also when you enabled the ports did you point them onto the ip camera?
