After *years* of swearing by WinMX, the only thing I do these days is swear AT IT!
It's gone to ****..you used to be able to find and download almost any song..

But anyway, what are the best music D/L softwares out these days?

No you don't, dload the free option. Its suppose to have less search results than PRO, but there isnt any difference, and the functionality is the same.

Theres nothing illegal in using this software or even searching for 'free' music, which is what the question was about. It only becomes illegal when you actually download copyrighted material.

You realise that alot of ppl use these apps to share their own recordings/files don't you? I use p2p alot to share large personal files with my parents, as it is quicker and easier for them to use, rather than FTP, email, WWW etc.

And a lot more use them for illegal purposes. In fact, I don't think I've ever actually met anyone who has used this technology for solely legal purposes.

Personally, I've found ftp to be a far more reliable and faster was of sharing files. A lot more secure as well. Why would you want to make large personal file available to everyone on the internet?

I don't. I only allow users (i.e parents) to dload these files. And yes FTP is better and more secure. But it's easier for my parents to use p2p as they are completely PC illiterate, and installing a p2p app and using it is a one click process pretty much.

Yeh easy for u or me, but not for them. Trying to explain ip addresses, ports, id's n passwords would be a waste of time. I suppose I could VNC in or something and set it up for them, but to be honest I cant be arsed
