Default Sending encrypted email

My company needs to be able to send the odd encrypted email to a customer (medical results). Can anyone recommend a product? Ive looked at PGP but I believe you need to have the client software at the other end as it were.

I am aware of encryption software at the gateway etc but think its a bit of overkill for what we need.

Cheers

Question

Well if ya encrypt an email, then the far end will need to decrypt it - which will obviously require some program or software.

For a cheap solution, you could ZIP it up with a password, and send it as a normal attachment (and phone separately the password).

However, if it is truly commercial or medical sensitive, i would hope that you are treating security VERY seriously, and have appropriate systems in place!

Yes if you send an encrypted e-mail the recepient will need to decrypt it (Unless they are like the kid in mercury rising that is!!!!)

PGP is very good and well worth a look, straight forward and easy to use.

If you're using Outlook / Exchange you can encrypt e-mails from within the app.

You need to have shared certificates set up, but I think it's 156-bit encryption?
