I'm trying to play offline as much as poss but I'm not able to dedicate as much time to it as I'd like. As such I've not dared go online cause I might cause a pile up and get banned from every server

I'm as crap at GTR as I was at GPL The old boys from the UKGPL league are attempting to setup a GR league, called UKGTR un-surprisingly. See www.ukgtr.org.
This game is very much in the GPL vogue if you play in simulation mode, there is no where to hide. Car handling is state of the art, do not try this with a keyboard
The poor boys at Simbin (and 10tcle the publishers) have come into a lot of stick over the lack of a dedicated server that didn't require the game CD to be present or that required a DX8.1 compatible graphics adaptor. This was rectified last week but there are still issues with online play.
A lot of the GPL community is playing GTR and sites like GPL Rank have a GTR equivalent now. I was a -15 man at GPL, I'm around +17 in both GT and NGT classes.
I have also been running a small server here off my ADSL line, good for 7 connections only, but the pickup races are apparently a waste of time. People just punt you off. At least GTR disqualifies you for driving the wrong way I can make the server available for a few here if we want a small ScoobyNet race sometime.

Thanks for popping in Ed, seems that V1.4 has brought with it a problem where the controller loses it settings, never had it before this version once the game has started but has happened to me for last 3 days. If I go into controller it can be made to work again but that is no good once the race starts as you have to quit! That's what happened to Prof at the start, he rammed me you took the lead
Hope you can make Saturday, the ScoobyZone crowd will me milling around the South West Performance Car Club stand somewhere in the paddock area.
