Lightbulb Password protecting folders on a flash drive

If I were to lose my flash drive there's documents on it I don't want other people looking at.

Is there any way to password protect a folder on a flash drive?

yep it can be done. Not totally sure how of the top of my head! But to stop this post being completely pointless.. why not just move the folder/files u want protected into a passworded zip / rar ?? be easy as..

i no u can get flash drives that have protection built in, also they stop any trace of the files u look at being on the host computer... thats my next purchase (dont think there is that much in it price wise)

Cheers

I've already bought a 2gig drive, it came with software to partition it, it works ok with my desktop but my laptop spits the dummy when I have the software loaded, as soon as I plug the drive into the usb I get a blue screen and restart. Unload software and all is ok!?!

Both XP but the laptop has service pack 2 on it desktop don't

I've not used zip files much, I'll try and play around with that idea when I have time. I take it I would have to extract and re-zip whenever I wanted to modify or add a file?

Can you tell I'm a bit of a dud on computers??!!

it would yeah sorta do that yeah.. u would be able to double click any files and it will extract and open in one step.. when ur finished doing what u want.. it will ask if u want to modify compressed file.. u say YEP and ur all done

its pretty easy, dont think u will have much trouble once u got the password set
