IPCop V1.4.x
Id be interested to hear anyones opinion about, or experiences of, this Linux based OS/PAT firewall/router (for use in a standalone firewall router gateway machine; but youd know that if youve used it wouldnt you.....)

Parents have run an IPcop 1.3 for about 1 year on Broadband. (512K DSL on a P133 I think it is with original Frog USB modem). IPCop is in the loft.
Absoultely faultless. Occasionally DSL will disconnect and IPCop doesnt re-connect automatically. 10 secs to point the broswer at it and reconnect manually and its fine. Also happens with my over-priced Zyxel 662 so cant really fault it.

Make sure you upgrade to version 1.4.6
An updated version of IPCop has been released. This fixes some vulnerabilities in various packages, which can be exploited to gain escalated privileges, cause a DoS (Denial of Service), or extract files to arbitrary directories.
