question for mac guys... USB drive

Got a USB hard disk. Stopped appearing on desktop.

OSX system profiler has found it, but I can't seem to access it.

Nowt wrong with the drive - works on my other Mac.

Any ideas?

Can't rebuild the desktop on OSX can you?

Any advice would be great

Does applications->utilities->disk utility see it?

If so, can you click on it and press mount?

Disk Utility doesn't see it.

I've also repaired any disk permissions (as an outside chance), but still no joy.....

The drive is formatted for PC, but the Mac has always read it
