Hi,

My Old computer has gone Bang, I need to back up all my Photo's & music from the Hard disc. So i have pluged this into another PC and set it as a slave drive and got it all up and running.

Go to My Computer, Find the Disc location, Open it up and that all works. But when i try to access "My Documents" it says "Access denined".

When my old pc worked i had to enter a password to login to windows.I think this is why i can not accesst this folder as i have not entered a password.

Any one got any idea's , Im despriate, i need this photo's.

Hi,

if you right click on the disk in explorer, go to properties and then choose the security tab, replace the permissions to give everyone full control

Forgot to say if your using XP and its not part of a domain, the security tab wont be there, to get it to display you need to have an explorer window open, then go 'tools' 'folder options' , click the view tab and then in the advanced options scroll to the bottom and untick 'use simple file sharing'
