Default How can I find out what model my pc is?

I've rebuilt my pc a Compaq but the only markings on it say "evo" rolleyes: I've been onto Compaq's website and unfortunately it doesn't allow me to find out what it is There should be some sort of sticker it says but there isn't one

Any ideas please?

Thanks

Looks like D530 SFF - is it no more than a year or two old? Is there a part number on the sticker on the side (pic 3)? If there is, try searching the Compaq/H-P site for that p/n.

Take the lid off and look on the underside, sometimes something there on CPQ'S.
Or you could try Belarc adviser, usually pretty good....

No part number on the side or inside Only a few serial numbers and none of them let you search for what it is

As I said, it's probably a D530 SFF, but until I'm in work next (Saturday) I can't take a look at one to see how they can be identified. Does System Properties in Windows say anything useful, or have you wiped the HDD?

Just wiped it because it was screwed When I bought it there were loads of viruses on it and although I got rid of them the damage seemed to be done.

Thanks

Not a 530 then, but in the same case. Won't be able to help you then. I assume you need to know so that you can get all the drivers sorted out?

3rd pic - the barcode should have a serial number on it.

Then visit here, type it in and it should tell what it is.

HTH,

Chris.

Sounds pretty similar. I guess the internals will be pretty much the same. I'll try that thanks

Yes that is a serial number but so far I hadn't found anywhere to search for what it was by serial number I'll check that out later too.

Thanks

Not much help I'm afraid . . . .

The LAN, sound and gfx are all onboard. LAN says INNetSCS SI-50083 on it but I have a feeling that may just be to do with the socket. No signs of any sound/gfx chips to indicate anything.

Fraid I don't have time to crank it up today, but if you draw a blank, I'll see what I can do.

It looks identical to yours with the exception of the GFX socket is not on a riser card, but built in with a socket next to the com port.

Paul; look for the FCC ID numbers and then check them all individually at www.fcc.gov Youll soon get a match. If the complete kit hasnt been tested then Google the system board model description and Im your Uncle Bob.
