Windows 2003 / XP DHCP problem
Over the past month we've been having issues with workstations losing their default gateway setting. Only seems to happen if the PC is rebooted or switched off overnight (i.e. dhcp request on startup).
The DHCP config on the server (2003) didn't change, although I've deleted and recreated the scope just to prove it is OK. Server is kept up-to-date, but problem started prior to sp1 getting installed.
Likewise XP is kept up-to-date, so can't put my finger on an exact update that could have caused the problem.
Anyone had any similar dhcp issues lately? driving me nuts and although the event log gives an error it's just the basic dhcp server could not be found sort of message.
Stefan

I'll check the rev of the NIC driver as it gets updated direct from Intel.

what are they set to when you do a ipconfig at first boot up?
Local machine policy / gpo could effect some settings, login scripts, rogue dhcp? (doesnt make sense with /renew though)
What virus scanner are you using and does it do packet filtering?
