Talking PS2 - new KOF game

Hi,

This arrived this morning, new King Of the Fighters game, in 3D for change (well for KOF anyhow)...

Well, wasn't sure what to expect, had a quick go before work.

First impressions, reasonably fast paced and looks awesome, plus if you a KOF fan, you like this because its recreated some of the key characters superbly in 3D.

Anyone else got it?

Alex

PS. Got Mortal Combat Deception too, not sure yet on this one.

KOF in 3D :eek : Noooooooooooooooooo!

To be fair it doesn't look too bad, more like 2d action with rendered characters.
Will be a shame if they decide to go this route in future though. I hope SNK Playmore are gonna carry on making 2D KOF for the Atomiswave now that the Neo Geo is pretty much dead.

Jay,

I owned a Neo Geo back in '93 (I think it was) with Art Of Fighting and Fatal Fury - awesome system at the time - the games had an awesome price tag too!

I also recently bought the KOF 2000/2001 double pack for PS2, graphics are basic, but the game play is there.

According to the gumpf that came with KOF-MI, there are supposed to be two more games due out soon, at least one of which will be 3D - may be both (can't remember exactly was a little drunk..).

Main reason I've gone back to PS2 from Xbox is to get all the classic titles that now seem to be coming out on PS2 - sad I know, but hey, reminds me of my youth!

Did you ever buy the NeoGeo handheld ? I did, with Metal Gear Slug (thats the right name I think) and a couple of other titles...

What's the best Street Fighter variant for the PS2? I bought my brothers old one a few nights ago and need a Ryu fix.

I bought the Street Fighter 2 Anniversary edition for PS2 a few weeks back, its not bad, just can't get quite the same smooth movement on the PS2 pad as I could on the SNES... Still, this version has most variants of SF2 built in , plus SF2 the anime movie and some other bonus stuff - seems to be the one to get and most high street stores are selling it for 20 quid or less (i got if from MVC with transformers for 28 quid).

Just notice Firebox are doing a Streetfighter 2 mini-mega drive thing with two pads for 30 quid...

Naa, I just usually don't spend my hard earned money. I got GT4, SFII and Transformers (two for 30 quid in HMV at the moment). I'm also not long back from NZ so I have the holiday blues, nothing like a bit of retail therapy
