I read somewhere (probably on here or Pistonheads) that it was a bug (feature?) to do with ride height. They suggested bumping the ride height up a bit and then see how he gets on. Didn't seem to have much trouble with it when I did it in either the R92 Nissan Race car, or, errmmm, the other one that I might have used which I can't remember what it was! I did post on here a while back which car I did use so if you have a search you might find it.

I ran him with overtake permanently on and his speed set to 3. Think he had the occasionaly wobbly but I still won by a number of laps at the end (about 8 I think).

Just tried it on one of the european races, only 2 laps. Came back 30 minutes later and he was still on lap 2 driving head long into a wall over and over again!

Hmmm I did all of the endurance races with it no problem at all

The b spec option is next to the normal race option next to the car setup button

If you try a GT Force Pro steering wheel you'll know why he hits the wall, it's very bumpy down there.

It's the ride height like Hanslow says - apparently lifting the car 15mm sorts it.

PS - what car were you using? I found the F1 car did it loads - but the Audi R8 not that much - having said that 18 hrs in and my driver was a lap down, so had the a-spec the next 3 hours to turn it around...
