Default Any DNS gurus?

I need to find out what version of BIND I am using and whether or not we use selective forwarding on our DNS.

We are a NT 4.0 domain by the way

Anyone help??

Are you using DNS that comes with NT4 ?

If you are then you are not using BIND.....

Jeff

Yes we are, I had assumed this but wasn't completely sure.

What about selective forwarding - what is the default for this on NT4?

Cheers

I believe MS DNS on NT4 was based on bind 4, but as usual with MS, it was hacked around a bit (no dynamic dns IIRC)?

Selective forwarding should be in BIND 8 from 8.2.3.

nt4 doesnt support dynamic dns either despite what people might tell you.

2k3 does support dynamic updates, it also supports conditional forwarding.
