Default PS2 any good with a TFT monitor?

For anyone using a PS2 with a TFT monitor. Is it any good or am I better sticking with an LCD TV?

Sony do TFT monitor specifically for the PS2, if you can get the cables I see no reason why you can't use any model.

I've got mine running thru a box from www.lik-sang.com on my Iiyama TFT.
Picture quality isn't as good as on a TV.

Have mine running through a Dell 2005fpw (20in widescreen pc monitor) and it's very good in fact. The only issue is because the PS2 is so low res I have to adjust the lcd so that it stretches the PS2 image (Maintaining the aspect ratio) so that it more or less fills the screen otherwise I have an image in the centre of the screen about 7 or so inches square... (The image at 7in square as you can imagine is spot on,it's only when you stretch it you distort it)
It's definitely more than playable though when stretched.I'm lucky cos my lcd has composite and s-video inputs on the back so I don't have to use a vga box...

Pic of it running WinXP

Good luck

I was thinking of a 17" Widescreen TFT. How bad is the distortion when you stretch the screen?

Not that bad TBH.We have a 23in Philips LCD in our bedroom and I would say the colours are more vivid on the Dell than on the Philips!!
Have tried it on the 17in widescreen lcd in the kitchen and I wasn't that impressed (Mind you,I was only using composite leads on that)
