Be patient

It depends on the number of seeds and how fast they are. BT isnt usually that good, unless youre dloading something that is recent, and popular.

If ure on a router forward a port to your LAN IP that the BT client uses. This may improve things for you. To be honest though, 40-70kb/s isnt bad.

Are you mixing up your kilobits (Kb/s) and kilobytes (KB/s) per second?

Some programs quote speed in one, and others quote it in the other.

It might also be a firewall issue. You should have a green light/icon somewhere on the program. If it stays yellow then you'll need to open up a port on your firewall(something above 30,000 will do fine) and tell your BT software to use the same port number as you just opened up.

scooby nutter try a prog called netlimiter to limit upload to 5-10k per sec that should sort you out. also active mode is way better than passive mode.

mike
google dc++ and install the client. set it up and connect to a hub. then do a search for what ever you want and then download.

mike go to options and make sure you are sharing a goodly amount. most hubs need at least a 10gig share. rip a couple of dvds onto your hard drive. pick hubs that have lots of users on them and do your search. it may take a minute or two for the stuff to come up. pick the file you want, right click and then download to, thats it. make sure you are in active mode not passive. cannot search in passive mode.

cheers

when you run dc++ the public hub list should be gererated automatically. just pick a hub that you meet the criteria for.

cheers
