Default DC++

how many ppls rate this as a means of file sharing. any better ones out there? anything i need to know before installing this i.e security etc etc.

This is one of the best IMHO, I use it almost exclusively. There are no security implications i know of. Just make sure you know what you have shared!

Once installed, use the hub list to find a description of a hub that is close to the kind of file you are after, join the hub and search within it.

Get RevConnect !!

It's a moded DC++ client that allows downloads from multiple sources. The only problem with DC++ is finding decent Hubs.
