Default Overclockers I need your help

I am currently running a winnie 3500+ @2.7GHz (245x11). i have run memtest from a boot cd and everything seems to be fine. ran it for about 8 hours no errors. so the memory seems to be ok. i have increased core voltage to 1.5v and upped DDR memory by 0.1v.

I want to stress test the cpu now. the pc runs xp fine but that is no indication of a stable system. 3dmark05 gave me 6124 with no probs either, but i have a feeling Prime95 might make it a fall over, but have heard that sometimes P95 might do that.

I was wondering how long would you guys run Prime95 to test the cpu.

cheers

Prime is good, but I'm not a fan as Prime seems too twitchy for my liking: a rig that never crashes or locks on anything else will often fail on Prime. The very best test is to simply use the thing day in, day out, but that takes a while to confirm stability. I tend to start with 3DMark2001SE as it's a lot heavier on the CPU than the later versions. If that can loop for four hours, then you're pretty much there. Sandra's burn-in prog is quite good as well (although not for burn-in, as that's a myth IMNSHO).

What about cpuburn or a Knoppix CD with some Distributed Computing clients on it like Overclockix? Never used either of these mind, so YMMV

cheers lads. the overclocix looks interesting. system seems to be stable enough. £140 cpu that runs faster than an FX55, and still air cooled. using cpuid i see that the internal clock on these is limited to 3000mhz(time for some prometia stuff methinks)

Ran Prime95 from 10pm lat night and surprisingly it was still going this morning. no errors at all. well pleased. superpi 1M fails after 10 iterations though would this program be even more twitchy than Prime 95?

cheers

I usually find SuperPI will happily run on settings that even 3DMark2001 fails on, so I'd be surprised. But this is overclocking, and anything is possible.
