Default Encryption tools

Hi peeps,

Just looking round for some decent disk encryption software for the new laptop when it arrives (see my thread on getting burgled ) I've gone uber paranoid about the info. So as well as having on boot passwords etc, can anyone suggest tools that are either free or cheap that allow you to encrypt folders and drives on XP ? I know you can do it on XP but I dont trust the OS tbh.

Cheers

Stu

PGP is ok; its good for encrypting email using public keys but for static encryption Id suggest Cryptext; its completely open source and I havent come across anything better.

I would use "drivecrypt" to hide certain things from prying eyes if I had anything to hide from the Mrs (hypothetically).

Try Dekart Private Disk. Lite version is free. Basically it creates a mountable disk that you use like any other but the contents are encrypted. IMHO - Very good.
