Default External Hard Drive

Want to get an external (fairly portable) hard drive - 60-80 gb is all I need - what is best make/model to for ?

Any advice appreciated.

if you want portability, then go for the 2.5inch HDD (laptop HDD) as you dont need external power source (powered via the USB port). have a look at www.qtds.com

Bit more capacity than what you asked for but have a look at Watford Electronics as they do a Lacie 250gb usb2 drive for a little over £105.I doubt you will find anything of that capacity as cheap!!
The thing with hard disk space is that in my opinion,you can never have enough
Am seriously considering ordering one of those drives myself as it got a very good review in this months PC Pro magazine (Even got promoted to their "A List" - List of all the best hardware per category)

I bought an 60 Gig internal PC drive, and put it in a USB2.0 caddy.

Think the whole thing cost me about £50

I picked up a USB 2 / IDE caddy for around £20, so then your choice of HD to go into it.

Available with SATA instead of IDE and dual USB 2 / Firewire connection for a bit more cash.
