Default Network Detection

I have 3 machines at home networked using a Netgear 614 router. when my main machine boots up it takes a long time to get to the desktop. the other two machines would only be on at the same time occasionally. how can i change the length of time xp pro spends looking for machines on the network? i have tried xp tweaking forums but no joy.

cheers

Hello

It shouldn't spend any time looking for machines unless (as mentioned above) you are accessing resources on the other machines.

You can try giving the machine a static IP address, to see if the router is slow handing out an IP address.
