Going from PC to MAC
Hey,
I picked up my new 1.8 iMac G5 last night and i'm finding it a bit harder than i thought to navigate around it.
Anyone found the same after swapping from a PC and any tricks to help or is it just a case of sticking at it until it becomes easier?
cheers

Just about everything!
Ever had had feeling when you dont have a clue how to do something that you know you should know, well thats it at the mo.
I love the iMac, but OS x and panther just feel so different to MS XP.

Steve,
Fancy giving a few examples?
I don't mean to be rude, but use the 'Help' option and do search for what you're wanting to do, should turn something up.
If we take the Start menu as an example, there isn't one per-se. the Apple menu will contain a few items (System Preferences = Control Panels).
Applications usually live in a folder called Applications on the root of the hard drive. Plus some of the common ones can be found on the 'Dock' at the bottom of the screen. You can of course add/remove items from/to the Dock as well.
Here's a tip for making things a bit more PC like:
Open the hard drive and select the Applications folder, then drag it onto the dock (you want to put it on the far right hand side of the Dock, otherwise it won't let you add it).
If you then click on the folder that has appeared in the dock you'll get a list of the contents of the Applications folder. Somewhat similar to selecting Start -> Programs on a PC.

Yes OSX might "feel" different, but I find it dead easy now. I've only been a Mac convert a few months after many many years of M$ products.

A good tip is just try the most simple thing, not necessarily always the most obvious. OSX extensively uses drag and drop so try that on certain things.
I found it took me about 3-4 weeks to really get used to it and I was a little flaky and unsure at first but now, er, well lets just say I quite like my Macs

Just drop me a PM if there is anything specific or mail me.
Like Markus and the others says, go with your instincts and you will get the hang of it soon.
Congrats on making the leap anyway mate - there is no going back!
