Is it essential that you get on as the user concerned?

If you simply need to get "into" the machine, then booting into safe mode (F8) will reveal an extra logon icon at the login screen - Administrator. Password is Administrator too

press ctl-alt-del twice on xp login prompt to allow you to change the username to administrator. However you will need the password for admin.

If you have lost passwords then there are utilities on the net which you can download. I have used one but cant remember exacly what it was called.

Do a search for NTBoot...
It's a util that allows you to reset passwords on a machine.I think from memory it's a linux bootdisk (floppy) that will allow you reset passwords to any account on a machine (Used it on a w2k laptop in similar circumstances to you and it worked a treat!)

Good luck

That would be putting your dad's (his companies) data at risk. This will probably land him in hot water and they may discipline him.

Even if you reset the password, how is your dad supposed to log in. It may seem a bit obvious if you tell him what your reset the password too
