Question activesync problems - help!

I've had my new Mitac mio168 for 2 weeks now - i'm having terribble problems loading programs to the PDA or Sd card. Keep getting 'disk access problem' error message, then activesync reports 'not connected' and sync is lost. disconnecting cable and reconnecting restores sync, but loading a map into the PDA's memory is a nightmare!!
I've tried different cables, usb socket of PC, reinstall of Activesync - no different
Any suggestions/advice welcomed !!!!!!!!!

alan

p.s. It does sometimes work, but 4 or 5 goes at loading a map is beyond a joke!!

Not sure on a mitac, never had those probs with an ipaq.
Have loaded maps for a gps device, but make sure they are set to load to sd card.
maybe start from scratch again, and set up a new partnership

ActiveSync is very slow anyway, it's worth getting a USB2 memory card reader (£15 from ebuyer etc.) for big transfers to / from the card.

That said apart from the slowness I've not had any problems with my iPAQ with a CF card in it.

I've bought a USB Sd card reader for a tenner from Ebay - much faster!!

Hmmm! Thats interesting - I've read somewhere else that Tomtom takes over Comm ports etc. Its something else to try -- Thanks
