Default Video Output onto PC

Hi all.

We (thats my father and I ) would like to transfer various VHS tapes into our PC. Then edit them and burn them onto DVD using our DVD Burner. Simple enough we think.

We found this cable Link here

Seems ideal. VCR output to a USB connector. So presumably we need to buy some software as well? Do we need anything else?

As you can probably guess, this is new to us. So basically any and all info would be greatly appreciated*.

Thanks for reading

* Whilst not complete numpties, start basic please

one of those should do the job, not sure so just check. first link is a free software, it all depends on what the cable does really

it says there that it allows you to capture videos so depending on format you will need a dvd creator/convertor, i recommend using winavi (have the "free" version)

the cable should capture for you and then you will have to convert to dvd fromat.

hope that helps.

Cheers Jabran

We'll order that cable and see how we go with that software.
