Default Is it worth buying a Ps2?

Hi,
I have resisted buying one for a while, as I sunk all of my money into a Dreamcast. But im thinking of getting one now for GT4-I wont use it for anythink else. I already have a gamecube which I dont use. Shall I just wait for the Ps3?
Any thoughts would be helpful.
PS where can I buy NFSU 2 for my gamecube for cheap?
Thanks Kam

lol same here mate after my one decided to stop working i didnt think of buying one until gt4 came up. its gonna cost me 80 quid for PStwo that nice small one. so wont be a big loss untill the release ps3 next year so unless u wanna wait a year to play gt4 dont buy it.

oh and no. i aint buying from e-bay, i'll probably end up with a PSone in ps2 casing lol

hmmmm...might try and get cheapy 2nd hand one BUT have you seen the demand for these babies after all these years. My dreamcast is worth nothing. As for part ex my games I would but I only have mario kart-what a hoot of a game.
Kam-p.s new Ps2 are only £100 ish, so its not that bad.

Lol, I take it I have missed something obvious. TBH rarely pop over to the 'dark-side' of scoobynet.

Buy a PS2 and get GT4.

There's ton's of other game's available cheaply that are brilliant - There's also Metal Gear Solid 3 out next month, along with a New TimeSplitters game (miles better than Halo 2 IMHO)

Yes!
We use ours when we go a way not just for games but we plug it in to the Tv in the room and put DVD in it.
Beats watching nothing on Tv.

Cheers guys. Ps2 old style or new style. You can get hard drives for the old style ones- any tips or how much the old ones cost?

I got mine 1 year ago so I think you could call it the old style. I paid £179 but i got pad and two games.

There a lot cheaper now and with more games.

no point buying an Xbox if u want GT4 tho eh?

I bought a faulty PS2 on ebay for £30 and gave it to my m8 who cleaned the laser (usually they need adjusted) and it's playing originals fine - I only want it for GT4 too

I also now have a spare replacement laser I bought on ebay as I thought I would need to put another one in the faulty machine. So just gonna give it to my m8 who is gonna stick it into another PS2 so we can sell it on to pay for GT4

and to really take the pish.

I am sitting here with 2 copies of GT4, 2 PS2's and 2 TVs, 1 is Japan edition and the other is a Hong Kong edition.

Life is good.
