Thumbs up WoW Beta Ends - Servers Go Live on Friday, Whose Playing :-)

Right so the Beta has just ended about 20 mins ago.

Servers back up for Friday

We got many players planning on being there from Friday ? Not seen much written bout WoW recently on here......

Looking to try and get a Horde guild going once it starts.

Done a few weeks in the Beta and i reckon its going to be much more fun in a group than always trying to solo.

Yup L. monthly, 1/4 1/2 I think.

I've played the US release since it went live. Gets a bit old a bit quick IMHO and I've already unsubscribed.

Collect x number of y and return them to z.
Repeat
With the odd special thrown in.

Guess I've just never recovered from EQ burn out

its about 8-9 a month iirc.

really enjoyed the EN Final and Open Beta.

great for solo play (depending upon character) and if you can team up with a few people even more fun imho.

mine is pre-ordered, looking forward to it coming.

from not having played everquest for about a year I am looking forward to a game like this, be even better starting on an equal footing and not feel like you are constantly behind like in eq.

i think he means pvm (player vs monster) there will be 3 types of server when it goes live (well thats if they are the same as the US servers)

pvm - player vs monster
pvp - player vs playerr
RP - role play

pvm - normal playfields will have no pvp, but will still have pvp battlefields
pvp - basically everywhere will be pvp
RP - role playing server you are your character, none of this hi im mark from england more like hi im X the dwaven hunter , and i think will be based on the pvm environment.

havent ordered my copy yet, still undecided, but if i do play it will be on a pvm server.

http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/...ealmtypes.html

I'd be concerned if anyone I know wanted to go on the role-playing server. . .

There's some very dubious posts on the WOW (role-playing) forums about people fantasizing (sexually) about the characters in game

we are all going Horde of some discription - I'm going hunter - there are a few warroirs & the majority are going "magic" based.

In short it doesn't really matter what class you go, as in late game you'll probabily be teamed up with people who you compliment.

/edit

Yes I'm BlkKnight on the lanse site also

See I quite fancied a change from magic type, I had a level 65 wizard on EQ, that was pretty well kitted out with one of the top guilds on TT server.

I understand the casting class etc, but fancy something different - bet your life I will end up as another wizard type because I know what I am doing (kinda )

I love being a mage/wizard type.. someform of magic user.. I just wish the damn duild could carry a sword.. I hate the silly stick ...

If I use a warlock at least I can carry a sword but I want to be a night elf as they look so cool..

quite fancy a rogue to be fair, on dmg mitigation, a rogue was much better off over a long period of fighting compared to a wizard in eq, less time sat on my *** medding.

Casters tend to do all their damage very quickly - then run out of mana - where as non casters (hunter in particular) offer a more sustained DPS - if they can survive the initial volley

Thats where the Warlocks are so cool, because you have spell to regen your mana (which is taken from health) but then you can do a life drain to get back health.. as long as your pet is doing the business then you have enough time to regen health and save your pet..

yeah .. made my mind up.. warlock it is

warlock sounds a lot like a necromancer, I will just have to make sure that I have beer and food ready for the enslaught

Lol, I love how people can go from a question, to full accusation in one paragraph, then instantly figure out the solution to my issue with the game...

Nope, never went on raids

I was a member of the largest Horde guild on our server, here's a screeny from an early raid into 'orrid elf territory...

Far from true, on pve servers, when people start getting 40+ there starts to be quite a bit of open pvp play for those who want to join in, but a lot of wasted time for those that dont. For those that dont know, there are enemy npc's (non-player characters) who are always pvp flagged, upon attacking one the attacker becomes pvp enabled for 15 mins.

People just get the urge to go around ganking enemy villages, vendors, banks etc just to cause grief. I dont know if Bliz have looked into this since I left but it was becoming more of a problem in the last few weeks.

Ogrimarr was constantly getting attacked by high level rogues sneaking in and taking out the whole bank before anyone knew what was going on.

Crossroads was also a problem, as the grave is about 5 secs away, I counted over 150 corpses in the inn where a group of lvl 60 hummie scum were just ganking the whole village, including vendors. Thats a real pain when you want/need to hand your quest in as it took a good 30-45 mins to get enough lowbies to take them out.

But, each to their own, I did have another go at it and took an undead mage to lvl 25 odd, but I just didnt have the heart for it again.

Jules

should be ready to rock about 5pm tomorrow night once i install and update and set up the payment.

you guys gonna be set on horde?

really cant figure out what class to be, rogue or warlock at the moment, any of you that have played the beta been either of these? Any hints, I get that for a rogue agility and stamina are most important, and int and hp for warlock.

Does any particular race suit either of those classes best?
