Angry Don't you just hate when...

.. you give a company another chance and they...

- ship the wrong colour case
- but the right colour dvd drives (that don't match the case now)
- the right GFX card according to the part no, but the wrong card based on their advertised description - so you end up with a lesser model.
- dead pixels on the TFT shipped (not their fault to be fair)
- and to top it off, with the normal next day delivery being 2 days later.

Wouldn't mind, but it will cost *me* to ship stuff back, so think I just accept all but the monitor for now, which will go back to either the distributor or manufacturer and write a letter of complaint for what its worth, no doubt will be ignored.

And I'm at work today... arrgrghhh .. .whinge moan

If one item has to go back, you may as well stuff the lot in a larger box and pay the extra...
At least you get what you paid for then...

I know what you mean about the right bits according to Part number though but not as advertised..
Had this problemn with a leatherman tool just before Crimbo, item described was not what they sent, but was what was on the invoice / receipt.
Just kept telling me I had got what I ordered as stated on the receipt.
but it wasn't what i was bloody looking at on the screen.. Grrrr
Never got anywhere.

Andy,

Well, its worse than that, they're web-site and my receipt says 'Extreme Gamers Edition' but the box doesn't and the part no matches that of the non-EGE version. Not that bothered as the price matches that of all the 6600GTs, but they need to change their website.

Forgot to mention also, that the case was obviously rejected by someone else, as it had been shipped out to a different customer a few weeks prior (still had his address on the box!) - but to be honest, all the parts were in the box and I can't find any indication that the case had been used.

Also, I'm trying to get it all sorted for next weekend, when my Dad is picking it up.

Sounds like you've had some similar experiences

As I said, think I'm going to write a letter.

Already checked IIyama's dead pixel policy and I'm screwed basically. Although the distance selling act may help

But i still need to source a trouble free LCD.

And I'm still at work... argghhhh

Hopefully not Daz, I've always found them to be spot on...

DABS however, I'd rather burn in hell than buy anything off them again.

Daz34 - yep.

I thought i was being unreasonable before, I now know I wasn't.
Its a great shame, because the front line staff at OCuk at great, they're just let down by the warehouse, management and phone systems (the latter is being improved apparently).

Of course, this would have to happen to the kit I ordered for my father!
I can see me buying another TFT from DABS again, LG one, as I've had no issues with DABS orders or LG TFT. And keeping the IIyama for dual screens.

I'm in a grump anyway cos I've been at work all day and was up most of the night sorting out issues at work. But even so, poor show on OC's front, but I'll keep you posted on how they sort this one out - see if they can regain face.

DrEvil - your talking about the XFX 6600GT card yes? I bought one last week also and Ive checked and mine was ordered as Extreme Gamer Edition but doesnt say that on the box (also from OcUk btw).

On the Xfx website http://www.xfxforce.co.uk/products.php there is only one version of their 6600GT which is the Extreme Gamer, so it sounds like more of a problem with XFX's advertising than OC:

PVT45GUDF7 GEFORCE 6800 GT PCI-E 256MB DDR3 DUAL DVI & TV OUT

****PVT43GND GEFORCE 6600 GT 128MB PCI-E DDR3 DUAL DVI & TV OUT EXTREME GAMER EDITION

PVT43PND GEFORCE 6600 128MB PCI-E DDR DVI & TV OUT EXTREME GAMER EDITION
PVT43PUA GEFORCE 6600 256MB PCI-E DDR DVI & TV OUT
PVT43PNA GEFORCE 6600 128MB PCI-E DDR DVI & TV OUT

Simon.

OK so might of got that wrong guys - sorry.
I'll check through coolbits and get back to you.

Was suffering from red mist (again) what with the other stuff wrong with the order.

*** actually, looks like xfxforce have updated their product page - i'd saved the previous one... they've removed one. ***

FYI the codes I previous took from OCuk / xfxforce - so does look like something has changed on the xfxforce website (I basically cut n pasted the below).

XFX GeForce PCX6600 GT Extreme Gamers Edition 128MB DDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (PVT43GNDF7) (GX-023-XF)

Which arrived today, the part number matches the box... but...
PVT43GNDF7 isn't the the Extreme Gamers Edition, its just the bog standard 6600GT...

PVT43GNDD7 is the code for the Extreme edition...

.... at least I'm not going mad... or am i..
