Default Win2K client machine & policies (show where?)

Anyway to show where a client machine is getting its policy from?

Just now and again a machine & user will change its proxy settings back to our old proxy server.

I have looked inside our existing policies and everything I can see points to our new proxy server name. I do not understand where it is getting these details from.. it only happens every now and again.

When the next machine does this, I was wondering if I can run a command which states where it received its last policy information from, so I can try and track down what is causing this ?

Regards,

Christian

PS> I know a simple solution is just to create a dns entry with the old name pointing to the new proxy server ip address.. but well I want to try and find out where it is coming from

have you tried the Resultant Set of Policy snapin?

Sounds like replication may be playing up.. see if different DC's make a difference.

if you have the windows 2000 reskit then from a cmd prompt:

gpresult /v

it will tell you which dc policy was pulled from.

if you don't have the reskit tools they're available here:
