Working out power requirements for a 42 U cage
Hi peeps,
This is probabily one for fellow techies so here goes.
We have a new 42U rack server. Currently its all plugged into the ups, ie it goes into the red wall sockets (we have a custom built comms room but a tight **** boss) We need to install powerstrips and he wont buy dell ones. However I stripped out 2 8 socket strips from another cabinet and want to place these in there.
Now affixing them will be slightly awkward but the main issue is how much I can load on these. Most of the systems have redundant PSUs so two seperate feeds. Ie im planning to balance it between the two strips.
It can be maxed out to a combined 13 amps per strip I take it. Any idea as to how many amps all this lot would use :
3 * Poweredge 4600 (6 disk system)
2 * Powedge 750 (2 disk)
1 * St Bernard Net filter device (1U)
2 * Poweredge 1650 (3 disk)
1 * Unknown Powerged 2U
1 * PowerVault 750
1 * Poweredge 1600
