Ive acquired a blue band on the desktop, about 2 inches wide on the the left of the screen from top to bottom, I was messing about in the my docs folder at the time and when i closed it there it was. Its deffinately part of windows as its got 3 drop down lists at the top of it.
No matter what ive tried, i cant get rid of it, properties on task bar, desktop, appearance, settings, advanced, etc etc, it wont drag, it wont click, i cant get rid of the f****** thing and its driving me mad!

sorry couldn't resist
Have you tried restarting, long shot but it could possibly be a graphics card artefact? Adaware software or a spyware remover?

Try a System restore, Click start,go to programs,go to accessories,go to system tools,
click system restore, pick a date before problem started, follow instructions on screen,
you might lose some of your latest programs you were on before problem. hope this works for you.

Its possible your taskbar is locked which is why you cant drag it / close it. Right click on the taskbar at the bottom of the screen : ensure the Lock the Taskbar option *isn't* ticked and then try to move or close the blue bar. It sounds like youve accidentally dragged something into the taskbar.

go to your desktop, press ALT and print screen together.
open up ms paint, go to edit and click paste, you should now have a pic of your desktop.
save it as a jpeg and send it to my email in my profile, I will post it up for you.

it's a Browser Hijacker/Spyware - supposed to be a hidden window but it has been written by amateurs - I see it a lot on my PC repair travels
I can remote connect if you want, to check it out....I'm trying to remember which one it is...it usually is connected to the MSN add ons and Coolweb 2 ( a bugger to remove!)

How he got it there is still a mystery as I tried to replicate that on my own box to no avail.
