I would check all the other details, like are you restricted on Data transfer etc...yes sometimes there are cheaper providers, but normally there is a reason for them being cheaper.

wanadoo are supposed to have a monthly download limit

Currently this is not in force but ive read this is being enforced early this year

doubt this limit should be an issue for you unless you download lots of movies

Worth checking out the adslguide forums or ispreview forums to see if there are any problems
I pay 19 quid for my isp and its gone sh*t in the last week. This is reflected in the recent moaning on the adslguide forums.

I'm with Wanadoo and have nothing but praise for them (can't say the same of my previous ISP - Tiscali).

£17.99 buys a 1 meg connection, but it is subject to a 2 gig/month download limit. This isn't a problem for me - but, as has already been observed, it doesn't seem to have been implemented yet anyway.

Do you know if the Wannado 1Mb package support online gaming (PS2)? If so it sounds ideal for what i need, looking to switch to a cheaper supplier than BT, and the download limit won't bother me now Supernova is dead.

Edited, yes they do support online gaming.

Just called to cancel my BT Broadband service, they've gone over to using an indian call centre for cancellations.

Bloke on the other end was actually ok, reading from a script but he understood me well enough, as long as i stuck to what he was expecting to hear.

God did he try to make me stay though, he was throwing offers at me left right and centre. I had to say, 'no thanks i'd just like to cancel please' about 20 times, then he sounded really sad at the end like he was going to lose his job or get executed or something.

I hate BT

Darn... not available in our area at all (UK Online). Will have to stick with NTL for now - however, we have had no problems at all with NTL for well over a year and are currently on 1.5 service and the 750 service - both of which do not suffer downtime at all (touch wood). We are able soon to update our services again for a one off admin fee so will be taking advantage of that too. The download caps (of which I am not certain nor bothered) are sufficient enough for normal home use.

I think they offered me that deal earlier, but i refused on grounds that 'it's still with BT though'.

Worth a look at if you a thinking of changing your ISP. Allows you to compare up to 6 ISPs of your choice showing a comparison between speed, reliability and customer service over the last 6 months. Based on this info, I recently decided to go with Zen

Been with Plusnet for a few years now. Really recommend them.

1 mb bandwidth £14.99. Download limit 1gb, but after that they charge you something like £1.50 per gb for the next 2 gb, then no limit.

Good idea if you are only expecting to use 1 gb, with the flexability to add at small cost.

Support is very good indeed.
