Contradiction in terms I know , but it does exist

Some 'interesting' options on the download screen ... you can get it whether you install the activeX control or not though.
Seems to be pretty good - found a trojan that adaware / avg 7 / webroot had missed. It's apparently a rebadged GIANT anti-spyware product that M$ have purchased.

Anyways, as has been stated you can by-pass the 'is my windows legitimate' and download anyways. This appears to be the same now with XP security updates as well....

You gotta laugh!!!
The way that 99% of spyware is propagated is via executables that are in e-mails or automatically downloaded from web-sites (possibly being invisibly installed due to holes in Internet Exploder).
So what do MicroShaft do to prevent this?
Yup, ask you to download and run a couple of executables.
They should simply code GenuineCheck.exe et al to delete your hard drive and display a message saying "If you are dumb enough to run this program then you don't deserve to have a computer"

Hello
I actually have a valid version (for a change) which is why I am surprised at the message.
